My, my, how the music world has changed since I was little... Back in "the olden days", people used to like a music group, buy their CD, listen to the whole thing, and be a fan of a specific music group. Today, however, people like a song, buy that song, and like that song, all without even necessarily knowing who performs it. And thus, at least in my opinion, the era of "fan-dom" has sort of passed... Even the groups I really like, I don't "follow" in the way I used to before the days of iTunes. In case anyone was wondering, I have no problem with this. :)
Actually, I find it quite great because it means I can buy individual songs that I like by artists that I might not be okay with buying their whole CD. For example, I have the song "When September Ends" by Green Day, because I heard it when we went to Stars on Ice and liked it, and the CD is rated "explicit" and I would never buy it, but now I can have the song anyway! That being said... if you "raise your eyebrows" at an artist on my list, just know that I can guarantee you, I haven't heard more than just that song, and that song is definitely okay. Just wanted to point that out in case anyone was wondering.... :P
All that is to say that when I am sitting here trying to think of "favourite music groups", I am hard-pressed to think of more than a very, very few (my current "most listened to" CDs are both albums by Nikki Yanofsky, and the High School Musical 3 Soundtrack). But I can't list every individual song I like, either. So here is a smattering of things I like. In no particular order.... And definitely a work in progress...
